I've not sewn marabout onto a leotard yet, but yes, you're correct, when you sew thru an elastic part or add a lot of stitching or trim that tends to stiffen and hold things in place which would make it less stretchy and harder to put on. You are right on there! I would say to tack it on every couple of inches may help to reduce the stitches in the elastic or leotard. I hope your aerial show went or is going well, that sounds so great! theladydetallehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15057800111099062420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9055136890039635806.post-8139235660952918222018-08-19T09:54:38.420-04:002018-08-19T09:54:38.420-04:00Hello, do you have any tips for sewing a marabou t...Hello, do you have any tips for sewing a marabou trim onto a leotard? I am not a natural seamstress but have to make a costume for an aerial show I am performing in. I have avoided sewing through the elasticated part of the leotard but am finding that even so the stretchiness is very reduced and it is quite difficult to put on! So sorry I didn't see this comment before now, I'm relatively new to blogging, but I hope your sewing turned out well and you enjoyed the process or at least the finished result (isn't wearing something with marabou SO fun, I feel like a fluffy princess when I do, LOL), maybe even share a pic? :) Happy Holidays!!theladydetallehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15057800111099062420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9055136890039635806.post-13672598121555931592016-12-13T08:40:27.144-05:002016-12-13T08:40:27.144-05:00Brilliant - just what i was looking for. thank you...Brilliant - just what i was looking for. thank youDaisy Creates in Sussexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01347794673019101690noreply@blogger.com
